Mushroom Butter Masala

Ingredients

Method

  1. Blend tomato and cashews into a paste and set aside
  2. Melt butter on a low/medium head and add the cumin seeds until they start popping
  3. Add Onion and cover pan. Saute for 5 minutes
  4. Add salt, and garlic and ginger paste. cook for 2 minutes
  5. Add the tomato and cashew paste and cook for 10 minutes. Add a dash of water if needed
  6. Add chilli powder and garam masala. cook for 2 minutes
  7. Add mushrooms and allow them to sweat down. Roughly 5 mins
  8. Add cream, mix well and put on a low heat, bring to boil
  9. Add kasoori methi and stir
  10. Serve with rice

Comments

To make the garlic and ginger paste. Add the ginger and garlic to a pestle and mortar and crush until a paste. Optional - add a tsp of oil.
